Catcafe

Hospitality Brand Identity, Publication

CatCafe Lounge is Los Angeles’ only nonprofit cat cafe, combining a café experience with cat rescue and adoption. The space is designed to help guests connect with adoptable cats in a warm, relaxed environment that supports both community and care.

This hypothetical rebrand for CatCafe was inspired by my love for cats and my interest in how design can support adoption. I was drawn to the brand’s combination of café culture and cat rescue, and wanted to create a warmer, more welcoming identity that feels calm, healing, and inviting. Through this redesign, I explored how visual identity could help bring more people into the space and give more cats the chance to be seen and adopted.

LogoFor the CatCafe logo, I integrated cat ears into the letter C to create a mark that feels playful and easy to remember. The rounded wordmark helps make the identity feel softer, warmer, and more approachable, reflecting the gentle atmosphere I wanted the brand to have.

Graphic System & Color PaletteFor this graphic system, I created four cats in different poses to reflect the playful and changing nature of cats. I paired them with bright but gentle colors to create a warm, sunlit feeling that makes the brand feel cute, welcoming, and full of life.

Brand PosterFor this poster series, I used a clear layout and strong visual hierarchy to make the message easy to understand. The jumping cat moving across the three posters adds a sense of playfulness and helps bring the brand to life, drawing people in before leading them to learn more about CatCafe.

For this poster series, I wanted to show how cats and coffee naturally coexist within the CatCafe experience. By creating direct interaction between the cat graphics and coffee elements, I aimed to express a space that feels both relaxed and inviting, where people can slow down, stay, and connect.

SpatialFor the spatial design, I extended the cat graphics into the environment to make the brand feel more alive and immersive. Keeping the same visual language throughout the space helps the identity feel unified, while also making the atmosphere more welcoming and easy to step into.

WebsiteFor the website, I wanted the homepage to feel welcoming, playful, and full of brand personality. The large cat graphics and colorful navigation help make the browsing experience more lively while turning the entry points themselves into part of the visual identity.
